About Me

I bike to work on nice days. I enjoy taking my oldest son, whom is two to the park to get outside. A little about my history: As a child I once wanted a chest to place things for safe keeping. I wasn't allowed to use power tools, so I went to the garage to measure, cut and assemble a small chest to lock things in using hand tools. I custom fit the the chest for my collector cards and other random belongings. I have tried to build three fiberglass rc boats. All attempts were aborted due to unsatisfactory results. I had good ideas but was not educated on the proper ways to use the material. One tip, Polyester resin and polystyrene foam do not mix, it melts. My first attempt was with a female mold made from wood, chicken wire, and plaster of paris. Was too narrow for a hand laying fiberglass. A male mold was started but never finished. My final idea was a polystyrene foam plug that would then be fiberglass over. This could have been used but was very distorted after the resin melted the foam. I now know that an epoxy resin would not have melted the foam. This is just a few of many projects that I have taken on.
